Electric Light Orchestra - My favourite songs

1) Mr Blue Sky

This is my favourite ELO song as it has a very upbeat tune throughout the song, with catchy lyrics which also connote feelings of happiness.

I especially like the intro, where it starts off quiet then the beat drops and it gets louder, which then continues throughout the entire song.

Furthermore, the song was used in the Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2, which is an all time classic and one of my favourite films.

2) Showdown

This is a close contender for my favourite ELO song, as the instruments used in this song perfectly match each other, and the beat in the background has a much more 'funky' aspect to it, which goes against ELO's typical regular beat, however it works very well in this case.

Additionally, there are instrument solo's later in the song with occasional lyrics, which perfectly pair each other.

3) Telephone Line

This is my 3rd favourite ELO song as it goes against their typical fast paced songs, and instead has a more slow and jazz-like beat. This works well as their use of instruments have a slow, regular beat in this song which pairs well with the slow pacing of the lyrics.

Also, I specifically like the introduction in this song as it begins with a snyth-like beat.
